Help for Long Covid

Approximately 45% of people who are diagnosed with Covid will go on to develop Long Covid symptoms.

This is a debilitating illness, which can have long lasting, and serious repercussions on people’s physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

There are over 200 recognised symptoms of Long Covid, including heart palpitations and dizziness, ongoing problems with smell, taste and sleep, as well as depression, anxiety and mood swings.

Most people’s experience of Long Covid includes fatigue, chest and limb pain, headaches, brain fog and breathlessness.

Help for Long Covid is a therapeutic programme which is rooted in the principles and practices of yoga. Specifically, it uses a range of breath techniques and gentle restorative yoga, to increase levels of oxygen and nitric oxide, improve our sense of self and how best to body budget, soothe and generally play down symptoms.

Are you ready to find out more?

Just to be clear – this is in no way a ‘miracle cure’ and it certainly does not replace any medical advice or treatment.

Rather, from the starting point that the breath is the foundation of healing, this 4 session programme is designed to work alongside any prescribed medical treatment, giving you the tools to reduce inflammation, clear a way through the brain fog, and restore and rebalance the body’s systems, so that you are better able to manage your condition, and feel more like the you that is uniquely you.

Over the course of our time together we will:

  • learn how to use different breath practices to improve oxygenation, and nitric oxide levels; also to bring all of the body’s sytems into balance

  • use restorative yoga practices to discover what is possible, improve how we feel about ourselves, and develop confidence in the body’s abilities

  • practice mindfulness and meditation to bring ourselves into each present moment

  • recognise the importance of rest and relaxation and learn techniques for home practice

  • learn how to plan and allocate the body’s resources well, so that we can stay in credit.

If you have struggled enough with Long Covid, let’s talk:

What my clients are saying:

“After having a mild bout of COVID-19 at the start of the year, I found that I had severe fatigue, shortness of breath and tightness in my chest that affected my ability to do common day-to-day tasks or any strenuous activity such as exercise, due to the fatigue and shortness of breath.

I was really pleased to hear that Gail was able to offer support for long COVID, and since completing a few sessions, I have noticed a substantial improvement in my energy levels and sense of wellbeing. In particular, the general feeling of tightness in my chest reduced within a few days which was a really positive and reassuring change for me.

I also feel that I am better equipped for the moments when I do experience shortness of breath, as I can easily course-correct with some focused breathing. It has been great to have a more robust plan to support my body’s recovery.”

Steve A, Sheffield.

“I have been experiencing multiple symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, dizziness (to name a few) as a result of Long Covid.

Through my one-one sessions, Gail has helped me to gain confidence in my body and focus on what it can do, rather than what it can’t. She has helped to add structure to my day through journaling, noting positive things that have happened each day. Adding daily breathing exercises has helped my chest symptoms and I can feel more clear headed when I have done these.

Gail has been so supportive throughout the programme, along with my 1-1 sessions she has sent me recordings of the yoga movements for me to watch and practice at home between sessions. She has also checked in with me via email and text along the way.

Thanks so much for all your help and support.”
